HISTORY SINGAPORE. Redhill Close SIT apartment block demolition

A large part of Redhill Close Estate of SIT (Singapore Improvement Trust) flats which is one of the oldest public housing estates in Singapore has been demolished. The video shows the remaining 7-storey block near the Bukit Merah Community Centre awaiting its turn.My old primary school was Bukit Merah North Primary School which was located near to the Community Centre. It has long been demolished together with Bukit Merah South Primary School and Redhill Primary School. They are replaced by Gan Eng Seng school.

Redhill Close SIT Estate was built by the SIT (Singapore Improvement Trust) set up during the post-war years to build public housing. It is the antecedent of the HDB (Housing Board). 11 Jun 2023, 5 pm. Redhill Close SIT Estate flat demolition.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIP: In bright sunshine, I used the TV shutter priority mode and it gives good results at ISO 100. I used f/10 to get more details of the background as aperture is smaller than if I had used f/4.5.
