Описание: Ladies and gentlemen, fall has arrived and Halloween is right around the corner! And what better way to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season than watching Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, which was released exactly 30 years ago! But where and how did Tim Burton come up with such a unique and unforgettable story?

Back in the early 1980s, while he was an animator at Disney working on The Fox and the Hound and The Black Cauldron, Tim Burton wondered to himself, "what would happen if Halloween and Christmas somehow collided with each other?". So he wrote this little poem that would not only introduce Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, but would eventually be adapted into a stop-motion animated feature film a decade later. Collaborating with director, Henry Selick, and film composer, Danny Elfman, the three of them would give birth to one of the greatest holiday classics since Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Although the film was released under Disney's subsidiary studio, Touchstone Pictures, and was met with moderate cult success, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas would soon be vindicated by audiences prompting theatrical re-releases under the Disney banner and even concert/theatrical performances, some conducted/performed by Elfman himself! Nightmare would later be adapted into other forms of media, including books, manga, and even video games too.

History lesson aside, I, Son of Herodotus, am proud to commemorate this momentous anniversary by narrating Tim Burton's original story, with illustrations shown from his 20th anniversary book. The narration will be in the style of the old Disney Read-Along series (the books that came with a tape cassette that had the story and one or two songs on it). So whether you relive the memories you had watching the film when it first came out 30 years ago, or if you want to share this story with your children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, etc., then this story is for you!
