This Classic Aussie Muscle Car Looks Brand New!

Описание: This rare HJ Holden Monaro GTS Coupe rolled off the production line in December 1974 and has travelled just 91,000kms. Still retaining its original factory specifications, this Monaro is a standout example of Australian automotive history. With only 606 HJ Monaro Coupes produced after the HQ series, it’s an extremely collectible Holden that showcases the golden era of Aussie muscle cars.

Angelo purchased this Monaro around 7–8 years ago, after Sam – who had begun restoring the car following its 20-year slumber – sadly lost his wife. Originally parked due to an engine overheating issue, Sam repainted the coupe in its factory-correct colour while keeping the interior original and immaculate. Aside from a new electric aerial, stereo upgrade, and gloss-black engine bay, the Monaro is almost entirely factory.

Powering this classic Holden is a factory 253 V8 engine, paired with an Aussie 4-speed gearbox and Salisbury diff. Angelo has restored key mechanical components such as the big nut master cylinder, fuel pump, and battery leads to original spec. The car still runs the standard Monaro exhaust, delivering that unmistakable Holden V8 rumble – a sound Angelo believes is the best from factory.

Inside, the Monaro remains untouched and truly immaculate, right down to the glasswork. Out on the road, it drives flawlessly, handles beautifully, and turns heads with its striking paint and unmistakable GTS presence.
