Our Marine Biologist, Mary Rowlinson, explains the goals and objectives of our Shark research Institute. We founded Shark & Marine Research Institute with the aim of obtaining critical baseline data on our smaller, endemic sharks to understand the delicate chain of our local ecosystem. Great White Shark research and population monitoring is just one part of what we do. With Great Whites being the Apex predator it is important to also understand the smaller shark species that are part of the same delicate chain, and how the disappearance of just one species can have a knock on effect, capable of causing total ecosystem collapse.
