In this lesson, we begin Unit 7: Probability from the Pearson Edexcel Progress Year 8 Mathematics course.

Students will learn:
✔ Impossible and certain events
✔ Equally likely outcomes
✔ How to calculate probability using:

Probability = Number of favourable outcomes / Total number of outcomes

✔ Using real experiments and data to estimate probability.

Experimental Probability = Total number of trials / Number of times event occurs

✔Simple probability questions
✔Writing probabilities as fractions
✔ Repeated trials
✔ Recording results in a table
✔ Relative frequency
✔ Large number of trials gives better estimate
✔ Difference between theoretical & experimental probability
