It's quite the shock for those people who are new to Linux that there is no Microsoft Office, there is no Adobe Photoshop, and it causes people to abandon Linux altogether. There are tools that Linux uses that can produce the same output as their proprietary counterparts. It's just a matter of getting used to something new.
