Composed in 1827, the year before Schubert’s death, the Impromptus D. 935 are often considered sonatas in disguise. No. 1 in F Minor is a grand work in sonata-rondo form, balancing tragic intensity with moments of tender, major-key hope.
Eric Lu first gained international acclaim by winning First Prize at The Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018 and later the XIX International Chopin Piano Competition in 2025.
