She also said that Palash is extremely close to Smriti’s father — even more than Smriti herself. When her father fell ill, it was Palash who insisted that the wedding should not continue until he recovers.
From this point, the situation started getting more complicated. On Monday evening, Smriti Mandhana deleted all photos and videos related to her engagement and pre-wedding celebrations from her Instagram account. Soon after, her teammates — including Jemimah Rodrigues — also removed the posts and videos from the ceremonies that they had earlier shared. This raised more questions online, as people tried to understand what was really happening.
At the same time, a new rumour of “cheating” began on social media. A few alleged screenshots of Instagram chats — claimed to be between Palash and another girl — started circulating on Reddit, X, and Instagram. Many users sharing these screenshots claimed that Palash was cheating on Smriti with a choreographer who worked at the pre-wedding functions, and her name was allegedly Mary D’Costa.
Mary D’Costa has now responded to the rumours through her Instagram story. In her clarification, she said that the chat with Palash took place only between 29 April and 30 May 2025, and lasted just one month. She said she never met him in person and never had any type of involvement or relationship with him. She also mentioned that she had already exposed him in July, but no one noticed at that time because he was not very well known then. D’Costa said that she had originally posted the screenshots on Reddit, but the account and profile picture have been deleted since then, although the screenshots continue to spread online.
D’Costa further clarified that there has been confusion about her identity. She stated that she is not the choreographer and not the woman Palash allegedly cheated with. She said she is speaking out because many people are mixing up facts, and she does not want wrong assumptions to spread.
