This ride was different. I wasn’t in a rush. I wasn’t racing the clock. From Bakersfield to Plain, WA a 1,000-mile trip turned into a 1,600-mile, six-day journey filled with backroads, spontaneous detours, and meaningful moments.
In this video, I share the story of how slowing down and taking the long way completely changed the way I view motorcycle touring. What started as a ride to the Touratech Rally became something much more. Jokingly, I say I received my M.B.A. in motorcycle touring ... all that means is I totally learned how enjoyable it is to take random detours ... it was ... life changing for future motorcycle trips ... learning how to "take my time"!
Sometimes it’s not about getting there fast ... it’s about where you let the road take you.
