A turbidity flow is a subaqueous sedimentary process which is a particular gravity flow. Several factors are able to trigger the destabilization of sediments such as hight sedimentary rate at river outlets, storms, earthquakes, failure of volcanic flanks...
Break slope sediments are remobilised and transported by particle suspension in the ambiant fluid on the bottom, toward deeper environment. This mechanism is sustained by the fluid turbulent movement over a long distance."
