Objectives of the Workshop: a) To develop an understanding of questionnaire design and data collection strategies suitable for SEM-based empirical research.
b) To provide hands-on training in importing, cleaning, and preparing data in Jamovi for multivariate and latent variable analysis.
c) To guide participants through the step-by-step application of EFA, reliability analysis, CFA, and SEM using Jamovi.
d) To enhance scholars’ ability to interpret SEM outputs, including factor loadings, fit indices, path coefficients, and model diagnostics, for high-quality doctoral research and publications.
About the Workshop: This web-based, hands-on workshop is designed to provide participants with advanced training in Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using Jamovi. The session covers the complete SEM research workflow, beginning with questionnaire formulation
and data collection, and extending to data importing, cleaning, and preparation. Through live demonstrations, participants will learn to sequentially perform Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), reliability testing, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and full SEM modelling using
Jamovi. Emphasis is placed on model specification, estimation, fit indices, and interpretation of results, enabling participants to apply SEM techniques rigorously in doctoral research, journal publications, and advanced empirical studies.
Outcomes: After attending this workshop, participants will be able to…
a) Design and operationalize research instruments suitable for Structural Equation Modelling, ensuring construct validity and methodological rigor.
b) Independently manage and prepare datasets in Jamovi, including data importing, cleaning, and preliminary diagnostics for SEM analysis.
c) Apply advanced SEM techniques by systematically conducting EFA, reliability analysis, CFA, and full structural models using Jamovi.
d) Interpret and report SEM results effectively, including model fit measures, factor structures, and structural relationships, for doctoral theses and peer-reviewed publications.
