Skip to ~1:47 for the most intense barrage.
Took place during a storm chase near the Kansas/Oklahoma border on June 17, 2025. The supercell produced numerous photogenic bolts well ahead of the precipitation, and at one point, we found ourselves in the middle of a negative CG barrage. We were safe by remaining inside the car with only one window cracked open for the microphone. Apologies for the ticking sound from the hazard signal.
Thanks to my chase partner, Jonah Pehl, for driving us hundreds of miles and being brave during the lightning!
