My recent world record breaking run for the Blue Ridge low altitude course in the F-18 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The flying is generally conservative because I'd had a few crashes in earlier attempts, but it was enough to narrowly improve on the previous record.
The course commences at 01:30.
General tips and tricks:
1: Initial Loop
For this course, as with quite a few of the other low altitude courses, it's possible to increase your starting speed significantly before commencing the race by flying a circuit at the start as shown. This will generally result in a considerably better score for the first couple of sections of the course. If you find yourself running out of fuel after doing the extra loop, rebind the 'add fuel' button to something convenient in order to avoid that problem.
2: Line
The line I use is probably close to optimal in some sections, but likely not for others. I have only tested a small number of lines, and it is quite plausible that there is a significantly better line for various parts of the course, particularly in the middle sections.
