Welcome back to the Mandakyns Channel!
Today's episode is about how to create a basic gum arabic solution that you can begin using to craft your own Watercolor paints from powdered pigments. You may substitute clove or tea tree essential oil as alternatives to thyme essential oil as preservative. Gum Arabic is a fundamental part of the binder used to craft watercolor paints.
Soon I will begin showing you how to create your own Watercolors using herbs, flowers, food, shells, clay, rocks, & MORE!
To this solution, you may also choose to add honey or glycerin (humectants to add moisture and prevent cracking of pan paints) and some watercolorists add ox gall (or synthetic ox gall) to increase the flow of the paints on the paper.
