In this video, Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care paramedic Tracey shows you how to carry out CPR and explains what to do if someone suffers a cardiac arrest.
Every year, thousands of people in the UK experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and sadly only around 1 in 10 people survive. But survival rates increase dramatically when bystander CPR is started quickly and an AED (defibrillator) is used as soon as possible.
You don’t need to be a medical professional to save a life. By learning CPR and knowing how to use a defibrillator, you could help keep someone alive until emergency crews arrive.
