Описание: This is the biggest thing we've done to date. We've gone from being legally homeless to homeowners in ten days!!! I had no idea things would move this quickly...

It all started with a mortagage advise meeting, middled with a whole lot of phone calls and ended ten days later with a call saying that our dream house is going to be ours.

I'm so grateful to past me for working as hard as she did to save all that money. All the things and experiences I turned down in pursuit of this dream, it's all finally worth it.

I also wanted to make a point of saying that we have loaned money from Lew's parents to boost our deposit when we were being outbid. They are such amazingly generous people and it is just pure luck that we have that as an option. If you are out there feeling frustrated that you've been working and saving so hard for years but you've not got the deposit you need yet - I freaking see you. That was me for years and it's just pure luck that Lew's parents have taken me on like one of their own children. You are not doing anything wrong, it's not your fault that your parents aren't able to support you financially (most of the time it's not their fault either). I'm so sorry if that's your situation and that the current house buying system is so f**ked that having parents that have saved money for you is basically a requirement to buy a house. It's a joke. And it's all just luck. All I can say is keep saving and keep believing in your ten-years-from-now self. And make sure you have a Lifetime ISA!!! (the government gives you 25% of whatever you save - so put in £100 / month and you'll get £25 for free every month)
