I actually came for a walking tour of Kłodzko, but I simply couldn't resist visiting one of the city's main attractions.

The Kłodzko Fortress has stood here since the 10th and 11th centuries, having been rebuilt many times and taking various forms. It began as a few buildings surrounded by a palisade, then transformed into a castle, and finally into an impregnable bastion.
Today, the fortress looks much as it did 200 years ago. The fortress has survived numerous sieges and served as a prison during World War II. The lower walls are 11 meters thick, the upper ones are 4 meters thick. There's also a complex network of tunnels, a veritable labyrinth, dug out by prisoners.
Today, it's an interesting historical attraction where you can spend an entire day and still not see everything, as the Kłodzko Fortress alone covers 17 hectares.
