Final Day of Service for Thameslink Class 319s - 27th August 2017

Описание: Video: The final day of service of the Class 319 units on Thameslink services after nearly 30 years. For the finale I caught 319217 & 319435 and 319440 & 319443 at Gatwick Airport, then 319426 & 319432 passing my Southern 377 near Burgess Hill, and the final units (217 & 435) at Brighton and Bedford. Unfortunately, the actual train ride itself was a bit of a let down especially between West Hampstead and St Albans which is usually the point where the 319 is screaming 100mph. But due track maintenance work on the slow lines the train slowed down at Hendon and pretty much crawled for the remainder. It was also quite noisy onboard and very packed with people (surprisingly), so instead I decided to upload the previous video from June which is how the journey should have been somewhat.
At the end of the journey the 319 pair was move into Bedford Carriage Sidings, then the following day I was lucky enough to catch their final move to Cauldwell Depot in preparation to be taken to storage.
Out of all the farewells this year, this one hit me the most as the 319 is one of my favourite trains and to not have it local in the South of London anymore is gonna suck. But I look forward to seeing the Northern ones some day and I hope Porterbrook has success with the Class 769 (319 FLEX) project, as it will be cool to see a bi mode 319.
