Today I’m visiting The Pier House in Westward Ho!, one of North Devon’s most popular seafront restaurants, to see whether the food lives up to the setting.

I tried a really interesting vegetarian burrito bowl, where you build your own burrito with a wide range of fresh and flavourful vegetarian options — easily one of the more creative veggie dishes I’ve had in the area.

Alongside that, I ordered the butter chicken, served with rice, poppadom, naan bread, mango chutney, raita, and lime pickle — a generous plate with plenty of flavour and good value for money.

For dessert, we finished with a chocolate torte (which was rich and genuinely excellent) and a cheesecake, rounding off the meal nicely.

With its clifftop location, sea views, relaxed atmosphere, and solid menu, The Pier House delivers more than just scenery. This was a genuinely positive experience, and a great option if you’re visiting Westward Ho! or exploring North Devon.
