COYOTE PUPS

Описание: The average litter size ranges from 4 to 7 pups but can be larger or smaller. Litter sizes are based on the current population and food supply. Pups are born blind and toothless in the den, and their eyes open after about 10 days. Pups are born with floppy ears, which start standing up at about three weeks old. Pups are first seen outside the den at around three weeks old, but they don't stray very far. Pups are weaned when they are about a month old.
They will go on their first hunting trips away from the den with their mother at about 3 months old. Pups become independent adults at 6-9 months old. Young males will leave their parents within 9 months, while females typically stay with their parents, forming the basis of a pack.
