🔅Soap Dictionary🔅

▪️Emulsification: The process of dispersing one liquid in a second immiscible liquid; the largest group of emulsifying agents are soaps, detergents, and other compounds, whose basic structure is a paraffin chain terminating in a polar group.
▪️Sodium Hydroxide: a white, deliquete, water-soluble solid, NaOH, usually in the form of lumps, sticks, chips, or pellets, that upon solution in water generates heat: used chiefly in the manufacture of other chemicals, rayon, film, soap, as a laboratory reagent, and in medicine as a caustic.
▪️Titanium Dioxide: It's commonly used to transform soap from cream to white, or to lighten other colors. A natural white opaque pigment, titanium dioxide is used in a wide variety of applications including paints, cosmetic products and food. The mineral is processed to remove impurities, resulting in a pure white color.
▪️Mica: Mica is a general name for a group of natural Earth minerals that are mined, purified and pulverized into fine powders and then used for dozens of different applications including cosmetics and soap making. Since it relies on reflected light, mica works best in transparent soaps like melt and pour.
▪️Acceleration: Reaction that makes the soap mixture harden faster.
▪️Discoloration: Generally caused by high contents of vanillin in fragrance oils. Discoloration ranges from beige to dark brown depending on the vanillin percentage
