I explored the Forest Heritage Center inside Beavers Bend State Park and found this incredible replica of the original Hochatown Store & Post Office!
The real one was from 1894 in the old lumber town – a Choctaw settlement that got completely flooded in the 1960s when Broken Bow Lake was created. The entire town vanished underwater over 200 feet deep! 😱
