Hearing the news about Sana's graduation hit me like a truck. She was always a joy to watch, and always seemed so passionate about space. It's sad to see her go like this, but I know we'll treasure all the memories we made together.
I had to make something in her honor, so I put together this remix of Astrogirl as a tribute. Astrogirl may be my favorite of HoloCouncil's songs; Snail's House's lush production really sells the whole "wonders of outer space" concept for me. I wanted to try a style that also evokes that feeling, so I tried shoegaze, which has that perfect blend of heaviness and melancholic ambience. What I ended up with was something along the lines of "what if Dave Grohl drummed for Deftones". I know Sana is full of infectiously positive energy, so I wanted to keep that spirit in the song.
