I always assumed an NFL officiating crew was tight. They bonded over shared experiences, laughed over the misfortunes of those they governed, they...were friends. Alas, egg on my face.
During the 2003 Wild Card Weekend, the Giants got absolutely robbed. As a result, the NFL went about making some changes - changes that in my mind are genuinely shocking weren't already a facet of the game.
