Should the NFL appeal Deshaun Watson's 6-game suspension for sexual assault? Absolutely, legally speaking.
Those arguing that the NFL should "respect the process" it agreed to need to realize that the NFL and the NFLPA also agree to an appeal process of part of that process.
Those arguing that the NFL shouldn't appeal because it will lead to a messy lawsuit from Watson are making a tired and lazy argument. This is a huge mess and it must be dealt with, even if that means it drags out for more than a season (or more than a year) in federal court.
