1. The Fulfillment Curve
This is the first thing I want to teach you guys
The basic idea of this curve is that it shows, the more stuff you get and accumulate, the less fulfilling it becomes and the cycle becomes stupid by a certain point
But that’s not what this video is about:
Instead I want you guys to think about what chapter of life you are on
Are you on the survival, comfort or luxury chapter
Before you answer, I want you to know, that what you think doesn’t matter (this is a mathematical question )

I know that sounds not so kind
But I know a lot of people who love self-denial.
Who think that everything is fine, even when they are presented with the evidence?
So here what I want you guys to gage these life cycles

2. The 3 Cycles
Survival: Consumer Debt and Fully Funded Emergency Account
You re in survival as long as you have consumer debt and you have no fully funded emergency account
Why? Imagine heading down a highway without a seatbelt, going 100 miles an hour, and saying, I’ve done this before ( I’ll just fine )
The answer is not putting on the seat belt alone, the answer is also slowing the heck down
Comfort: Paying off A Home you can afford and investing for retirement
The key point is paying off a home you can afford and investing for retirement.
Maybe people think they are investing and on their way to success, but the truth is they are shackled to the bone and don’t know it
They have a mortgage that’ll take them 30 years to pay off (that’s not a house that’s a prison)
They invest without even knowing what they are investing into and don’t make it a habit
Luxury or nice things: Paid off Home and Continue to invest
How many people do you know have a paid-off home?
Wait. How many do you know even have this as a real goal?
What’s the Point?
When you are in survival, you act like it (and you don’t spend on things you don’t need)
When you are in control you can afford to spend a little more ( but never on fancy trash, cause you still can’t afford it )
When you get luxury (that’s when you can think about a new $1,000 phone or a vacation to Fiji that costs $5,000)

Ps. I hate the idea of success being paired with what you can buy, it's just being a consumer. Instead, think about how you could live and spend your time)
3. Reducing your Expenses
I call this a Barebone Budget
And what you want to do, is live on bones
And no I don’t agree that you deserve to get yourself that watch, purse, ring, car or vacation because you work hard ( I don’t care )
Four main Expenses: Sum this UP
Shelter: $1,500
Utilities: $500
Groceries: $300
Transportation: $300
= $2,600
Income:
I make $4,000 dollar a month

Ratio: Expenses/Income = 65%
My expenses are 65% of my income
Meaning I can save 35% of my income

4. What if its not 25%
You want to sell everything you don’t need
You want to cut all the bills you don’t need

Truth is:
Everything that is not on that list is a want and is not a necessity.
If you are spending 50% of your income on a house/apartment (sell or rent another place )
But those are other videos for another day.
