Out of the mess that was the collapse of the Group C regulations, came a period of time where the FIA and ACO had to come up with their new top class of cars in Sportscar racing. The FIA and ACO came up with a solution known as LMP'S or Le Mans Prototypes. Out of these regulations came the Courage C41 powered by a Porsche flat six engine derived from the porsche 962C.
