Jocelyn Scofield created I AM as a singing meditation that honors the individual and the whole. It is meant to affirm an individual's worth, as well as the whole collective. She states, “When a choir prepares for a performance, they rehearse a piece dozens, if not hundreds, of times, and I wanted the experience of rehearsing I AM to be an ongoing declaration of the singer’s value. Therefore, every phrase in this piece is an affirmation.” The repeated line “I am home, I belong, I am worthy” is relentlessly poignant.

Jocelyn Scofield, a respected LA-based composer, vocal producer, and mixer, is currently making waves with her contributions The Really Loud House (Nickelodeon), A Million Little Things (ABC), and children's favorites Sago Mini Friends (Apple) and Ada Twist Scientist (Netflix).

Ms. Scofield was born in Flint, MI, and attended High School in Leslie, MI. She studied Vocal Music Education, as well as jazz voice and composition at Michigan State University.

With multiple artist albums and millions of plays on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, Scofield’s voice continues to captivate listeners worldwide. Her upcoming release, Ethereal Lullabies, is an album of re-imagined cinematic lullabies and is set to drop in the fall. Additionally, she maintains a busy schedule as a live and session singer, having lent her voice to The Grammy’s, American Horror Story, Ellen, So You Think You Can Dance, and Suicide Squad.

According to Scofield, composing I AM for the Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus was the highlight of her year. She is eternally grateful for the unwavering support from her family, friends, and fans. Please feel free to reach out and connect with her on social media.

We were honored to perform the world premier of Jocelyn's newest composition, I AM.

From the haunting melody and sounding rhythm; excitement builds into dancing harmonies, which flow off the pages like a gentle river cascading into a rushing waterfall. This piece invokes vulnerability and truth in our affirmations.
