Men’s Retreat

Описание: Men can be violent, narcissistic and impulsive. Or we can serve our communities as protectors, self-sacrificers and hard workers. We can shut up and bottle up. Or we can share our feelings of vulnerability and inadequacy. We can bring each other down a notch. Or we can raise each other up.

Men can pretend to know it all and assert that we're always right. Or we can ask for help and apologise when we're wrong. Our ambition can be demonised, making us hateful of the world. Or it can be channeled, making the world a better place.

Too often men are told to shun competition in the name of cooperation. But we can – and must – cooperate competitively and compete cooperatively, becoming stronger for each other in the process.

Our culture does a poor job of providing models of good men. And that's a problem for everyone, regardless of gender.

Here are just a few glimpses from our recent men's retreat. Phones were largely set aside over the weekend, so most of the event remains only in the memories of the participants.
