Welcome to a new episode of 'BORROWED HISTORIES' by 5Senses Ikebana.
Today's vase belongs to Misei Ishikawa sensei. Ms Ishikawa is a Master Instructor of Sogetsu HQ. She holds demonstrations and workshops both in Japan and abroad and her works have been exhibited internationally.
The vase was created by Yasuhara Yoshitaka, c.1985. Mr Yasuhara comes from a family of master potters; his father, Yasuhara Yoshiaki was a very well-known artist as well.
The beautiful glazed pottery vase can be used on either side, by emphasizing either the flat part or the rhythmical, fluid one.
