The two countries have also agreed to boost defence cooperation and access to crucial rare-earth minerals in the face of global uncertainty over trade. Speaking while visiting Australia, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen said it was necessary at a time where tariffs and supplu chains are being weaponised.
