Welcome back to the channel where I’m continuing with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck and trailer to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. This week, I’m deviating a little from making everything “movie-correct” and instead making #ProjectSnowman functional to pull my RV this summer. First up is to change the stock pin box to the Gen-Y-Hitch brand Torsion Flex setup. Designed to absorb the inertia between the tow vehicle and trailer, this technology is unlike anything else on the market as it allows the pin box to move which is of critical importance when you use a semi-truck to haul your camper but also makes it smoother when you pull with your pickup so its win/win. After an easy installation, I also installed a Hayes air over electric brake controller to activate my electric brakes from the air system on the truck. Finally took it on a successful drive and now I’m all ready for vacation … I’m gonna be the coolest Dad in the campground
