Описание: When you think of Mexico, street dogs probably aren’t the first thing that comes to mind. But outside of the fancy resorts and beaches that most tourists associate with Mexico, things are different. The country has the largest number of street dogs in Latin America. The National Institute of Statistics and Geography estimates that up to 80 percent of the 23 million dogs (18 million) in Mexico live on the street, are born as strays or simply abandoned. It’s a statistic that becomes overwhelmingly evident as you walk around. According to PETA, just one unspayed female and her offspring can produce up to 67,000 puppies in six years!

One big issue in Mexico, like many places in the world, is that family pets are free to roam the streets, mingling with the millions of stray dogs. This contributes to an abundance of abandoned mama dogs and their litters of puppies. They are prone to diseases and starvation and therefore there's a lot of animal suffering. Step by step, we believe it's possible to eradicate this issue over time. We praise the many individuals and groups in our community doing their part to walk towards that goal.

On Dec 20, 2025 we experienced a truly transformative day during our Christmas charity spay and neuter campaign! Thanks to the tireless efforts of doctors, volunteers, and rescuers, we managed to spay and neuter, as well as provide flea and tick medication and care packages to over 150 dogs and cats, both from responsible families who couldn’t afford vet care as well as those living on the streets. Each one represents a story and an opportunity to change the future and break the cycle of abandonment and suffering.

None of this would have been possible without the support of all our generous donors who provided the funds to make this campaign a reality. Your generosity and commitment to animal welfare transcend borders and inspires us to continue working for a better world for them.
