for various reasons, this animation would not be possible without these folks!

-firstly, i thank the original animators who worked on this ending! this would not have been possible - or even an idea that i would have had - if not for their hard work. as someone who isnt an animator, the process of breaking their completed product down and recreating it taught me a lot about timing and animation. i dont know if ill do this again, but this was a really valuable experience for me!

-while we’re at it, can i just say that this band absolutely KILLED this cover; i needed to use a cover of this song for copyright reasons, and none of them had the energy i was looking for. it was almost discouraging until i found this one. i hope the musicians dont mind that i used it ^^’

-he’s in the credits, but i have to acknowledge ohnostalgia. towards the end of this project, with my motivation flagging, i put out a desperate cry for help that he answered that gave me the energy to finish the last few parts, knowing that i didnt have to do all the labor on my own. this wouldnt be complete without him!

-thanks to wynnie hermette-historian, the good people of the hermit history server, and my friends in magcraft for the suggestions of various moments in hermit history (used in the very rapid montage section!). some of the moments that appear there i hadnt even thought to use, and i dont think that spread of moments would have been as inclusive of every season without their input!

-thanks to dawn dawnpath netherite-sword magcraft for letting me send her various unfinished versions of this and also for putting up with me animating this instead of interacting after i flew across the country to meet her. i love u

-and the hermits themselves! theyre all lovely and have inspired some of my most ambitious and technically skilled works. ive improved as an artist because the stories they tell have captured my imagination and brought me joy!

i counted this time:
-20 days of work in total, although those 20 days weren’t necessarily consecutive
-i put in 98 hours of work (my unpaid colorist monkey put in an undisclosed number of hours. dont worry about it)
-12 fps, over 1000 frames but i guarantee many of them arent 100% unique
