I made this video to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the outbreak of World War One. My ancestor, Private Benjamin Edward Walker, 1st 6th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, was killed on 26th October 1917, the first day, of the second battle of Passchendaele, Belgium. He left a wife and two young daughters. His body was never returned home to Norton, but his name is etched on the Menin Gate war memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
The video is a memorial to him and all the brave men of the DLI who fought and died in World War One. I have no pictures of Benjamin and I am grateful to those who have allowed me to use pictures of their relatives, who also served with the Regiment, during The Great War. in the video.

Between the crosses, row on row,"
