I’m looking for You, though I feel so lost,
Through restless thoughts and shadowed fears.
My soul cries out, but my voice falls quiet,
Why should I fear, when You are here?

I keep on knocking, doors half-open wide,
When I no longer know who I am.
For I only listened to voices unkind,
Of those who hurt me with sharp words again.

Why do I fade? Why am I afraid?
LORD, in the silence, You are with me.
I turn to You, I call Your name,
I need Your love to let me be.

Give me back courage, give me hope,
That tomorrow brings a brand-new day.
For all that’s given helps me cope,
And gives me strength to live my way.

Through colder waves and jagged stone,
I trace the road my life still walks.
With silent memories overgrown,
And dreams that rise to touch the stars.

When I believed You’d forgotten me,
I know… I doubted, I confessed.
I stopped speaking to You honestly,
I saw only worries without rest.

Now love can gently heal my way,
I won’t hold on to what’s behind.
I see the sunrise light the gray,
There’s peace in me, in soul, and mind.
