Today, Pune didn't just witness a race; we witnessed history. The Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026 officially kicked off with the Prologue right in the heart of the city! 🚴💨
📅 Day 1 Snapshot:
The Event: 7.5 km Individual Time Trial (ITT). This wasn't a group race; it was man vs. clock.
The Route: Started at the iconic Goodluck Chowk, zipped through FC Road, and finished at Deccan Bus Stop (JM Road).
The Vibe: High-speed action on the same roads where we usually sip chai!
🔥 Key Highlights:
Local Hero: The race was opened by Sachin Desai, our very own rider from Pimpri-Chinchwad (India Development Team), who was flagged off by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar. The crowd roared for him!
Global Scale: 171 riders from 35 countries (including teams from France, UK, and Holland) turned Deccan Gymkhana into an international arena.
The Stakes: Today’s results decide who wears the Yellow Jersey (Leader’s Jersey) for tomorrow’s grueling Stage 1 to Mulshi.
