The answers are rarely encouraging.

Laurence POIRIER, a Steiner-Waldorf teacher in Strasbourg, raises a question that few dare to ask:

"Do we go to school because we are afraid? Because we want to please our parents? Because we have to?"

She is not criticising. She is questioning.

And in her opinion, this question of children's intrinsic motivation to come to school deserves further exploration.

Because the answer to this question... is what will shape the society of tomorrow.
