Back in February, we launched a Call for Participation and a Call to Artists to tell the stories of Sugar Hill Neighborhood residents through visual art, now proudly displayed on light pole banners along Stone Ave.
Check out our latest video featuring these beautiful banners, celebrating the stories of the Sugar Hill community. Listen to Sadie Shaw, our Public Art and Community Design Administrator, as she shares heartfelt tales about the people who made the Sugar Hill Neighborhood and Tucson what it is today.
Pen Macias was selected by the community panel and worked closely with them to make the designs you see come to life. Congratulations to Pen and all the Sugar Hill community members who made this project possible!
