Shoreline Cruise Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada

Описание: We took the boat ride tour of the Upper Waterton Lake as part of our itinerary when we visited the Waterton Lakes National Park in the late summer of 2021. We took the last cruise scheduled for the day at 7:00 PM when the lake waters are very calm. The tour boat company offers informative and entertaining sight-seeing tours of the Upper Waterton Lake.

The tour boat ride has a tour guide that lectured historical facts and stories about the area. He was very knowledgeable, pointed out many interesting sites along the way and even related how the different mountains that surrounds the lake got their names. His knowledge about bear encounters was very informative. He told us about great wildfire of 2017 that almost wiped out the town of Waterton. He has a very clear and concise way of relaying the facts in an interesting way to keep your attention.

The scenery during the trip was breathtaking. We were lucky enough to watch a young black bear up close by the shoreline rummaging around for food.

Health protocols were in placed like masking and physical distancing that made us feel safe and secure. And because of these health measures, the tour was not permitted to disembark on the side of the US border in Montana, but the crews made it sure that we were able to see the 49th parallel boundary and the markers. Very cool to see the border from the water.
