One of the most common inpatient and outpatient diagnoses is community acquired pneumonia (CAP). Especially in the elderly, CAP can have serious repercussions including hospitalization. In this video we discuss the pathogenesis of CAP, the diagnostic workup, and treatment. In the treatment section we pay extra attention on antibiotic regimens and when to treat inpatient vs. outpatient.
