Haryana Government is all set to make a 75% job quota mandatory with a salary of Rs 50000 per month. All those with State domicile certificate are eligible for this reservation. The idea behind this is to create employment opportunities for locals but the private sector expresses displeasure over the new law. Some members of India Inc have said that this is going to spell disaster for industries. Following Haryana, other States have also issued a job reservation bill.
But, should there be a reservation in the private job sector? Can Haryana’s job quota law address unemployment? Why is India Inc worried?
