Описание: The second week of federal control over public safety in the District is now underway, and the numbers are climbing.

Officials say more than 300 people have been arrested since the President declared a “crime emergency” earlier this month, with dozens of illegal guns seized off the streets.

Since the operation began on August 7, federal authorities report 308 arrests, about half involving undocumented immigrants. In that time, law enforcement officers have also seized 53 firearms.
