A trail I saved for two years before finally walking it.
The first few kilometers are stone steps, steady and quiet.
Then the ridge opens — golden meadows stretching across the mountaintop.
When the wind moves, the entire grassland rises and falls together.
Around sunrise, clouds fill the valleys and drift along the ridgeline.
Walking forward, the sea of clouds moves slowly beneath my feet.
The trail is calm.
Only wind, clear and close.
Mist passes by again and again as I walk the ridge.

Loop: Guidong Bamian Mountain Circuit
About 17 km in total
Highest point: 2,051 m
Elevation gain: ~1,200 m
A step up for beginner backpackers
Journey
Day 1 — Arrival in the afternoon, hiking to the mountain valley to camp, cooking dinner, watching the stars.
Day 2 — Waiting for sunrise clouds at camp, packing up in the morning, descending before noon.
Camping & Experience
The mountain valley near the summit is relatively sheltered from wind.
Weekends can be crowded and noisy.
There is a water source near the summit.
At night, the stars are clear — almost no light pollution.
