Welcome to our new slow stitch project for 2026 that will be running as a stitch along. Everyone is welcome to participate and this project is beginner friendly for slow storch beginners. We’ll be stitching a hexagon work mat for your studio or craft room desk featuring vintage embroideries and fabrics. I’ll be sharing vintage embroidery transfer designs from my collection and lots of inspiration to include in your own work mat.
The project can be tailored and adapted to the supplies and time you have on hand, and what you want to create with the hexagons. There is no cost to participate.
In this video I will provide a tutorial and show you how to use ladder stitch to stitch two hexagons together. I will also share a sweet flower design for a hexagon with padded petals and a Suffolk puff or yoyo centre. I will show you how to make a Suffolk puff or yoyo with a handy tool bit also completely by hand with just fabric, needle and thread.
