The castle esplanade has been transformed from a utilitarian and functional landscape into a dynamic public space that can be enjoyed by all visitors to the castle. The new landscaping has been designed to be universally accessible and provides a safe and exciting route for visitors of all abilities from the entrance to the gardens all the way to the front door of the castle.
On the route, which zig-zags its way up the esplanade, the public will be able to see a diverse but curated range of native plants and flowers, whose stories are told through engaging signage, as well as encountering art that hints and what lies ahead in The Inverness Castle Experience.
