Axiolateral Mandible: Place AML parallel with the floor with COMBINATION of head tilt + tube angle to equal 25 degrees entering the gonion (side up). 8 x 10 field collimated to the necessary anatomy. This will demonstrate the ramus of the mandible. For Axiolateral Oblique views, simply rotate the head: 20-25 degrees for a general survey, 30 degrees to demonstrate the body of the mandible, or 45 degrees to demonstrate the mentum. Thanks to Jerre Erwin and George Hutti for their collaboration in this video!

My name is Jeremy Enfinger, and I've been teaching for JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology programs since 2005. I work full-time in management now for a large hospital system in San Diego, while I continue to teach on an adjunct basis because, well, I simply love radiography!
