The 2027 Toyota Highlander is going fully electric — and it’s a huge shift for one of America’s most popular three-row SUVs.
Toyota has redesigned the Highlander from the ground up with a new battery-electric powertrain, modern interior, and up to 320 miles of range. It will be available in front-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations, producing up to 338 horsepower — making it more powerful than previous gas and hybrid models.
The new Highlander EV also features Tesla-compatible NACS charging, fast charging from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes, a 14-inch infotainment screen, 5G connectivity, advanced driver-assistance features, and flexible six- or seven-passenger seating.
With an estimated starting price around $54,000, the 2027 Highlander EV is stepping directly into competition with the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
