You don’t need to understand the intricacies of running a bank to help you secure a loan, but if you understand the basic principles of lending, you may be better able to assess your own suitability for obtaining finance. The more you know, the more likely you are to succeed after all.

If you are looking at your own circumstances, assess yourself against these principles.

You may have cash flow, but if you don’t have assets you probably won’t be able to get a loan.

If you have assets, but you don’t have cash flow, you probably won’t be able to get a loan either. You need both and a good lender will help you figure out how you can make this happen.
