Audio Technica AT899 Lavalier Microphone Review

This mic is priced at about $200 USD and the big question is, what does this mic have that the lower-priced entry level lavs don't have?

Here's the summary:

Slightly better sound quality--a little more natural sounding which requires less EQ to get the signal sounding right for dialog, but not a huge difference

Slightly better at rejecting handling noise and movement from your actors or talent (partly because it has a built-in high pass filter on the battery pack)

Better build quality that will likely last longer than the entry level mics

Comes with a box and several accessories to attach the mic in a variety of ways

a battery pack that uses a single AA battery--a super easy to find battery if you need one in a pinch
